  • SOUTH JERSEY RECOVERY

SouthJerseyRecovery.com, a free web resource that provides information about addiction, eating disorders, and mental health issues.

Personality disorders can make many parts of day-to-day life difficult, so some people turn to substances as a way to cope with these difficulties. For some, this may be a way to cover feelings of emptiness or social isolation. For others, it may be a way to heighten thrill-seeking behaviors, impulsivity, and swings of anger.

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and to spread awareness, I am reaching out with two free guides covering personality disorders and co-occurring substance abuse as well as resources for those suffering from, or suspect a loved one may be suffering from domestic violence as unfortunately the two often co-exist.

What is Trauma Informed Therapy?

Trauma informed therapy is a treatment approach that utilizes the science of how human beings process trauma. The science is translated into clinical practice to help recovering addicts in their battle against substance abuse.

Trauma informed therapy at Boca Recovery Center assists recovering addicts in managing the symptoms of trauma. Our trauma-focused approach reduces the risk of re-traumatizing the client during addiction treatment. Therapists offer support and instill hope for recovery through trauma informed care.

We recognize that traumatic experiences can be overwhelming and at times, terrifying. Our therapists work with clients to restore a sense of safety and self-worth. This includes physical safety, trustworthiness, setting clear boundaries, transparency, and predictability. Clients rebuild their self-worth through respect, compassion, acceptance, and collaboration. Recovering individuals are empowered through skill building and coping strategies.

Alcohol Rehab Guide Page of Resources

During Covid the spike in alcohol and drug sales grew to an all time high. Now people are struggling with the aftermath of such a dark time.

The virus itself is not the only threat to our health. Sales of alcohol have been spiking and trends of substance use are on the rise, including relapse. Since awareness makes all the difference, I want to familiarize these relevant topics in such uncertain times. Alcohol Rehab Guide is not a treatment center; we are a public web guide sharing information on alcohol, therapy, and recovery.
To help do our part, our page
www.alcoholrehabguide.org/online-therapy-alcohol-addiction, talks about the benefits of online therapy for alcohol-use and explores different options to seek help. Our website also features additional clinically reviewed articles about addiction and recovery. I believe the right information in the right place can change lives!

Online Counseling for Alcohol Addiction

http://startyourrecovery.org/

We work with leading experts in effectively treating substance use issues to offer people a single source of relatable, reliable information at any stage of their recovery journey.

StartYourRecovery.org provides helpful information for people who are dealing with substance use issues — and their family members, friends, and co-workers, too. We know that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to the challenges faced by those who misuse alcohol, prescription or illegal drugs, or other substances, and we aim to break through the clutter to help people at any stage of recovery.

Our goal is to offer people who are dealing with substance use issues a single source of reputable, objective information about signs, symptoms, conditions, treatment options, and resources — presented in a user-friendly format and in language that’s easy to understand. First we asked: “Why doesn’t someone offer access to these resources in one place?” Then we asked: “Why don’t we?”

To do it, we bring together leading clinicians and experts in substance use prevention treatment and recovery from nonprofit, academic, and government institutions. Reingold — a leader in creating outreach campaigns that promote mental health awareness and help-seeking — works with these experts to assemble, validate, and present the best information available for people dealing with substance use issues.

For confidential free help, from public health agencies, to find substance use treatment and information, call 1-800-662-4357.
