There is so much controversy out there about social media and how it has affected our way of communication with life in business, as well as, socially.
I wanted to share how we can create many positive connections through social media.
It was through Linkedln that I met DJ Ron Carson. He reached out to me because of my story and platform as a child and mental health advocate.
Ron is a very popular DJ at WSBS RADIO STAION 860AM/94.1 FM Home of the Berkshires, and he asked me to come onto the show and speak about my book “The Unspoken Truth A Memoir”, my mission and advocacy work.
I gladly accepted and that is where our friendship began. Ron was a true professional and did his homework! He asked all the appropriate questions and our “on air” time was a great success.
It was from there that we stayed connected, and I was invited back because of events and my personal ties to the area. It was through our time together on air and off that a true friendship has transpired.
I am now a monthly regular guest DJ on his Saturday morning show, and we rock the air waves together as WSBS has allowed me to co-DJ with my favorite radio personality, Ron Carson.
He has the best radio voice in the business and his knowledge of music history is outstanding! Ron means business and he wants other people to enjoy the knowledge and history of music. I love the fact that he plays tunes from the 70’s on up to today biggest hits, showing his versatility with keeping up with the times, and still honoring music history of the past. What a great combination!
His compassion for others and devotion to his heritage of Greek Culture are admirable, and he is truly a great guy! We need more people like him in this world, who are willing to share their passion and knowledge so freely.
My favorite quote from him is this “You’re in my vessel now, follow my lead”
This is Ron at his best - when he is in his “happy place” The studio!
I am grateful for our friendship, and the wonderful opportunities that Ron, along with WSBS, has offered me.
We will continue to rock the air waves together, and I will confidently share my continued missions towards child abuse/safety and mental health illness/stigmas.
